Skyhawks shoot down Cowgirls

Ashley Kuchar, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark earlier this season, scored a career-high 28 points against the N.M. Highlands Cowgirls on Saturday night at Whalen Gymnasium. Kuchar and the Skyhawks beat the Cowgirls by 30.
All Katie Gannon, Giulia Simioni and the Cowgirls could do was look as Kate Bayes and the Skyhawks’ offense scored 108 points in a 30-point victory Saturday night at Whalen Gymnasium.
Erika Richards, who like teammate Ashley Kuchar eclipsed the 1,000-point marker her senior season, scored 19 points in the Skyhawks’ 108-78 rout of the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls on Saturday night at Whalen Gymnasium.
After struggling in the first half, Christie Groh rebounded in the second half to finish as one of five Skyhawks in double figures in their rout over the Cowgirls. Groh finished with 17 points and seven rebounds and played strong defense against China Smith, the Cowgirls’ star player.
