Bayfield High School quickly settled into the spring volleyball season after waiting seventh months for the season to start.
The postponed volleyball schedule opened after being pushed back by the COVID-19 pandemic. An abbreviatd seven-week scedhule began for the Wolverines on Saturday against Delta.
BHS (1-0) secured set wins of 25-23, 25-6 and 25-18 to easily win 3-0.
“After a tight Set 1, Emily Nelson broke out a tough serve, talying 12 straight serves to separate from Delta,” BHS head coach Terene Foutz said.
Nelson had 10 digs for BHS to go along with her long serving streak.
The BHS attack was led by 10 Annie Fusco kills and another nine from Melissa Roberts.
Sage Killough set up a balanced attack with 26 assists.
BHS will open the home portion of its schedule at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Montezuma-Cortez.
