Badges Against Breast Cancer, an annual 5K sponsored by the Bayfield Marshal's Office, raised $1,845 for breast cancer research on Saturday.
About 50 runners and walkers donned pink T-shirts, and a few wore pink tutus, while participating in the event.
After the run, participants chowed down on hot dogs and chips at the Pine River Senior Center, which had been decorated to become a sea of pink in honor of breast cancer awareness.
Participants received gift certificates donated by local businesses, including flowers, pizza, and lunches, as well as $10 gift cards from Lewis True Value Mercantile.
Donations to the Susan G. Komen foundation are still be accepted by the Bayfield Marshal's Office. Marshal Joe McIntyre and his staff are hoping to raise a total of $2,000 for the event.
Donations can be dropped off at the marshal's office at Bayfield Town Hall, or www.passionatelypink.org, click the donate table, and enter the name Joseph McIntyre.
