Avalanche control slows traffic at tunnel
DENVER (AP) Snow slowed traffic Friday in Colorados central mountains.
Avalanche control at the Eisenhower Tunnel on Interstate 70 triggered traffic jams, and U.S. Highway 6 over Loveland Pass was closed because of snow, forcing hazardous materials trucks to use the Eisenhower instead.
Crews were also cleaning up a previous slide on Loveland Pass and working to prevent new ones. A slide Thursday trapped several vehicles.
