Fort Lewis College received first-place consideration from golf coaches around the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Wednesday.
FLC was picked to finish in a two-way tie with Western New Mexico in the RMAC mens golf preseason poll, and the Skyhawks, like the Mustangs, earned a pair of first-place votes in the poll.
UC-Colorado Springs, which boasts the RMAC Preseason Golfer of the Year in Chris Shoop, received five of 10 first-place votes to lead the preseason rankings.
Colorado Christian was picked fourth, and Colorado Mines, which received the other first-place vote, was picked to finish fifth.
The rest of the conference in order of preseason rank: CSU-Pueblo, Regis, Mesa State and Nebraska-Kearney (tied for eighth) and Adams State.
FLC will start its five-tournament fall season Sept. 13 in La Veta.
